Our school council is a group of students from each year group who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school. In addition to giving the students a greater say in their school politics, it also leads them to understand how issues affect their wider world. As well as the council there is a suggestions box where students can anonymously place their recommendations into the system. So far, the council have had input on enrichment end of year trips, and have suggested summer school uniform and alternative female PE kit, which the school will be looking into.
We have also introduced year 8 student mentors and ambassadors to induct new pupils, thus exploring leadership responsibility.
